Champions League winners: every champion since 1956
UEFA launched the Champions League in 1955, and until the 1992-1993 season it was called the European Champion Clubs' Cup. It brings together the champions of UEFA member countries and, from the strongest leagues, the clubs that finish from 2nd to 4th. Over 71 finals, from 1956 to 2026, 24 different clubs have won the trophy. Real Madrid have 15 of those titles, and the holders are Paris Saint-Germain, who won it in 2025 and again in 2026.

Scores are given from the winner's side. PSG's 5-0 against Inter in 2025 is the widest margin ever seen in a final. Before that, the record was a four-goal gap, reached four times, including Real Madrid's 7-3 against Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960. By winning again in 2026, against Arsenal in Budapest, Paris became only the second club to retain the title in the Champions League era, after Real Madrid in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Madjer's backheel in Vienna
On 27 May 1987 in Vienna, FC Porto had trailed Bayern Munich 1-0 since the 25th minute. In the 77th minute the Algerian Rabah Madjer levelled with a backheel, and three minutes later the Brazilian Juary won it 2-1 for the Portuguese side. It was Porto's first European trophy. Across the match reports of all 71 finals, Madjer is still the only Algerian to have scored at this stage of the competition.
Riyad Mahrez played in two finals with Manchester City. He started in Porto in 2021 and lost 1-0 to Chelsea. In Istanbul in 2023 he was on the bench on the night City beat Inter 1-0 for the English club's first title in the competition.
