1981, JS Kabylie, then known as Jeunesse Électronique de Tizi-Ouzou: a 4-0 home win over AS Vita Club of Kinshasa, followed by 1-0 away.
1988, ES Sétif, playing as Entente Plastiques de Sétif: beaten 1-0 in Nigeria by Iwuanyanwu Owerri, then 4-0 winners at home.
1990, JS Kabylie: 1-0 in the first leg, 0-1 in Zambia against Nkana Red Devils, and the title on penalties (5-3).
2014, ES Sétif: 2-2 in Kinshasa against AS Vita Club and 1-1 at home, with away goals settling it.
Two more Algerian sides reached the final and lost it: MP Oran in 1989, beaten on penalties by Raja Casablanca, and USM Alger in 2015 against TP Mazembe (1-2, 0-2). The main phase of the 2026-2027 edition runs until the end of May 2027. Its fixtures are listed in the 1xBet sportsbook under CAF Champions League, and the European equivalent has its own history in our UEFA Champions League winners list.
