England. League Cup: England's League Cup round by round
England. League Cup is the English League Cup, a knockout competition run by the English Football League and contested since the 1960-61 season. All 92 clubs of the Premier League, the Championship, League One and League Two take part; every tie is settled in a single game except the two-legged semi-finals, and the final is staged at Wembley.
The 2026-27 edition: a preliminary round and two Premier League entry points
A preliminary round was added this season because nine Premier League clubs are involved in European competition; Round One then brought together 70 clubs, the 68 EFL sides plus the two preliminary winners. The 11 top-flight clubs without European football entered in Round Two, the nine European entrants in Round Three. In our list each tie is labelled by its stage rather than a matchday, quarter-final for instance, and the match page places the market for the team to qualify for the next round next to 1X2 and double chance: the first names the club that goes through, the others stop at the end of regular time.
