Austria. ICEHL: the ICE Hockey League before its games
Behind Austria. ICEHL is the ICE Hockey League, an ice hockey championship filed under Austria in the line but open to clubs from several countries. It has 14 teams this season, and the regular season started on 18 September 2026.
From the regular season to the quarter-finals
Each team meets every opponent four times: 52 games per team, 364 overall, until Wednesday 24 February 2027. The top six go straight into the quarter-finals. Teams finishing 7th to 10th go through best-of-three pre-playoffs for the last two places.
Stage | 2026-27 format |
|---|---|
Regular season | 52 games per team, 364 overall |
1st to 6th | Straight to the quarter-finals |
7th to 10th | Best-of-three pre-playoffs |
Quarter-finals, semi-finals, final | Best-of-seven |
A top-six finish therefore spares a team an extra series before the quarter-finals.
